Prioritize What Matters Before Making a Change

Clear Vision

What a hectic eighteen months we’ve been through. Our lives were turned upside down, so it’s easy to see how our priorities might be all shuffled up as well. Now we’re starting to see some sense of “normalcy” returning and people are starting to redefine success. It’s being called “The Great Resignation” or even "Great Awakening" as about 4 million people decided to quit their jobs in April alone. Burnout is the reason for quitting in many of these cases but people aren’t just switching employers, many of them are switching industries altogether. They are re-evaluating what is important and what they want in their careers. They are reorganizing their priorities.

Priorities

We’re coming out of a year spent in the Fear Paradigm due to a pandemic. Living in fear does not allow you to think clearly or take time needed to reflect. Here we are, smack dab in the middle of summer. It’s as good a time as any for a mental reset. You’ve got to take some time to set your priorities as well to make your way to the Integrity Paradigm. It’s time to think about your “why.” You’ve got to truly understand what you are good at, like doing, and can make a living doing, without sacrificing "you" in return. It isn’t an easy process and it might even be a little intimidating.

It takes a lot of work to assess your situation, make a plan to change it, and then commit to a life of fulfillment and work and life blend rather than only focusing on achievements. We’ve survived a forced pause and reset here, and it’s made the little things that make us happy a lot larger. What is important to you and how can you shift your mindset to allow yourself to experience more of those things? As it turns out, success is about more than money. It’s about a fulfilling and sustainable lifestyle that isn’t constantly under stress, which is a lot easier said than done.

Bridging The Gap

One of the biggest differences between The Achievement Paradigm and The Integrity Paradigm is that we’ve simply learned to accept that not everything is in our control. Unfortunate failures happen, experiments fail, and we’ve discovered that it’s not about the failure itself, it’s about how we respond to it. We genuinely believe in ourselves and in others around us and recognize that nobody is perfect.

Living In The Moment

With all this talk about your future, it’s easy to forget about the present. Part of the new you and part of living in the Integrity Paradigm is living in the moment. If we spend all of our time thinking about the future, the present would simply pass us by. The Integrity Paradigm is about recognizing and accepting our choices and our circumstances in life. We accept who we are and what we’ve done and we believe in ourselves. After a year of forced pause, potential burnout, it might seem nearly unreachable, but we promise you it is not.

We are learning that burnout isn’t a price that must be paid for success. It’s something that can be avoided to allow our most productive and satisfied selves to perform and grow. Let’s not squander this unique opportunity that has sprouted from a year of fear.
